Purpose

1. Mission Statement: Returning to the spirit of traditional medicine, “Great physicians with sincere dedication,” we aim to inherit and promote traditional Chinese medical scholarship while integrating modern medical wisdom to cultivate talents in Chinese medicine research. Our goal is to heal diseases, promote public health, and rejuvenate the value and vitality of life.

2. Development Highlights: (1) Spirit of Great Physicians with Sincere Dedication: Cultivating modern medical professionals who integrate traditional Chinese and Western medicine with ethical integrity, possessing a deep understanding of traditional thought and culture. Through modern language, we aim to reinterpret Chinese medical theories and give new life to traditional medicine. (2) Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine: Emphasizing the study of traditional Chinese medical classics, deepening the foundation of Chinese medical theory, and flexibly applying it to clinical practice. Our curriculum, designed with a problem-oriented approach and strengthened by evidence-based medical training, aims to develop the clinical diagnostic and treatment capabilities with Chinese medicine as the core and Western medicine as the supplement. (3) Intelligent Chinese Medicine: Integrating traditional Chinese medicine with smart technology, we aim to verify and reveal the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine using modern scientific methods. (4) Chinese Medicine Practitioner-Scientists: Through education grounded in evidence and the spirit of modern science, we plan to incorporate relevant research fields such as information science, life sciences, neuroscience, genomics, and other modern molecular medical disciplines to cultivate modernized Chinese medicine scientists. (5) Long-Term Care and Family Medicine Practitioners in Chinese Medicine: Integrating courses on aging, chronic diseases, long-term care, palliative care, family medicine, community medicine, and home services, we aim to cultivate professionals primarily in traditional medicine-based care. (6) Chinese Medicine Policy Talents and Internationalization: Emphasizing humanities and social education, we actively cultivate talents with an international perspective and deep humanistic and social concerns, aspiring to engage in traditional medical policy, public health, education, and international exchange. Increasing the number of Chinese medicine practitioners in hospitals is urgently needed for developments such as the development of new Chinese medicines during emergencies like epidemics, as seen in the case of Qingguan No.1, requiring expertise in regulations and clinical research for new Chinese medicines.

3. Educational Objectives: (1) Cultivate Chinese medicine healthcare professionals with moral integrity and skills. (2) Foster modern Chinese medicine practitioners with integrated knowledge of both Chinese and Western medicine foundations and clinical expertise. (3) Develop self-directed lifelong learning abilities and innovative spirits to promote research and development in Chinese medicine academia.

4. Core Competencies: (1) Ability to interpret and apply classical Chinese medicine in clinical practice. (2) Proficiency in integrating and applying knowledge from both Chinese and Western medicine. (3) Competence in clinical skills and patient care. (4) Promotion of humanistic spirit, ethical qualities, and professional demeanor in Chinese medicine practice. (5) Possession of modern scientific reasoning skills applied to evidence-based medicine in Chinese medicine. (6) Proficiency in utilizing information science to integrate smart healthcare with Chinese medicine. (7) Enhancement of teamwork and communication skills in healthcare and health care systems. (8) Possession of an international perspective and the ability to participate in global collaboration and communication in various fields of medicine and health.
